Marketplace Applications

Sat 8th + Sun 9th June 2024

Dane John Gardens, Canterbury

Our marketplace is visited by tens of thousands of people when they come to celebrate Pride. This page contains all the information you need to apply + attend our marketplace. Terms and Conditions (and our FAQs) are at the bottom of this page. We regularly update this with more information as it becomes available.

Applications officially open from January 2024 until the deadline of Monday, 8th April 2024. Due to high demand, we may be unable to accept applications after this deadline; please contact us. Please apply early to avoid disappointment.

Submit an Application / Request a Quote

We require all organisations to complete an application form (including pre-approved organisations) so we have all the details necessary to generate a quote + organise your attendance. Please note, your stall is not confirmed until payment has been received and Pride Canterbury have approved your application.

Please complete this form by the deadline of Monday, 8th April 2024, but the sooner the better! Applications submitted after this date may not be processed in time for the event. Applications are typically reviewed within one month of submission.

If you have any questions while waiting for us to respond to your application, please contact us below.

Documentation Requirements + Upload

Before the event, we require all pitch holders to submit £5M Public Liability Insurance using the form below. If relevant, you must also submit Food Safety Certificate(s), Gas Safety Certificate(s), and PAT Certificate(s). Your documentation must be valid at the time of the event. If you insurance and/or certificates expire prior to this, then submit your current valid documentation to complete your application. When you renew these documents, please then re-submit them as soon as possible prior to the event.

If the weather is poor, you may be instructed to pack down any gazebos + marquees for safety. No property should be left overnight, without prior permissions. In all circumstances, Pride Canterbury cannot guarantee or be held responsible for the security of any assets left on-site outside of event hours.

    Public Opening Times
The times we are open to the public can be found on our Pride Festival page. It’s expected that you continue trading throughout this time.

  • There is no parking on-site + vehicles may not remain on-site during the event. Exceptions to this are only with written permission from Pride Canterbury. Please refer to our General T&Cs for specific terms and conditions related to vehicles.

Parking can be difficult in Canterbury; we recommend arriving early (within the set-up + shutdown times stated above) to ensure you can park. Car parks surrounding the event site will have reduced capacity or may be closed as a result of our event. Click here to see all available car parks.

  • Gazebos, marquees, tables + chairs cannot be provided by Pride Canterbury; please source these yourselves. These are considered temporary structures and must be secured appropriately.

  • There are no water or gas services on-site. Electricity can only be provided to food + drink vendors if requested in your application and approved in-advance (a surcharge will be incurred which must be payable at the end of the event). Our electricians will be on-site throughout the event to ensure the requirements you requested have been met. Please remember that all portable electrical appliances must have an up-to-date PAT certificate.

Please ensure you have submitted a copy of your latest and current in date Gas Safety Certificate.

Please ensure that you bring your own fire safety equipment with you on the day.

  • Due to the limited WiFi within Canterbury, we cannot offer any WiFi services for card payments. We have found that card-payment machines can be temperamental during the busy event, so we are strongly advising all vendors to carry a cash float, in-case the local network has any issues.

  • In the week leading up to the event; you will be contacted with finer details about locations. Pitches will be pre-allocated + provided on-the-day when you arrive. Pitch positions will be offered based on the pitch you purchase. If you require a specific pitch, please speak to your Account Liaison.

Information on how to access the site is currently to be confirmed. On entry, you will be met by one of our team who will confirm your pitch location, provide accreditation + direct you where to go next.

  • We have an entrance to allow speedy exit + re-entry during the day, only for approved traders. When you arrive at the event, you will have been provided with accreditation for accessing this. The location + further details are to be confirmed.

  • It is expected that you will limit any unnecessary waste and leave your pitch clean + presentable, as you will have found it. We will have a dedicated cleaning team during the weekend, but we ask that you use and encourage people to use the bins provided around the site.

  • If you are looking to book an exclusive partnership, please contact us to discuss. We have not yet announced any exclusive vendors for 2024.

No products in glass bottles may be sold. No products must be given in glass packaging.

We will not be accepting stall holders or vendors who sell drinks; with the exception of plastic bottled water.

Unless otherwise permitted in writing, traders are limited to selling bottled water only at a fixed price of TBC for a 500ml bottle. There are free water refillable stations for attendees on-site.

Coffee Vendors: Soft drinks are to be sold at TBC per 330ml can.

Donations cannot be collected without prior written permission from Pride Canterbury.

  • Any potential allergies (i.e. nuts) must be clearly signposted for customers. Please make sure that you clearly list a list of allergens in your food to avoid allergic reactions from event participants.

Please ensure that you submit an electronic copy of your most recent Food Hygiene Rating Certificate and the Food Hygiene & Safety certificates for those attending and working at the event.

  • Any and all traders are required to use more sustainable alternatives to single-use plastics. The following are examples; but not a definitive list: wooden cutlery, no single-use plastic carrier bags and cardboard food packaging containers. Pride Canterbury is a responsible event. If it is essential that you use single-use plastic for food safety purposes, please discuss this with your Account Liaison for permission.

  • If you encounter an emergency at your pitch, please notify the nearest member of security. In the event that the wider event encounters an emergency, please quickly close your stall + make it safe, then follow all instructions from security.
